Happenings January, 2015

Double-Eagle-Logo-200pxGood Chilly Morning Brothers!  Although it feels like we’re in the frozen tundra, we truly are in Indiana and we’ve got lots of gatherings that will warm your heart, and if you choose to participate, will start your New Year off on a most positive note.

January’s Stated Meeting is on Tuesday,  the 13th, at the Valley Office.  Knights of St. Andrew will meet at 5:45 p.m., the 4th Degree will be available for new Candidates at 6 p.m., Stated Meeting will be at 7 p.m. followed by the presentation of the 12th Degree, Master of Mercy.  (Please note that this is a correction from the “Rite Time”)  Be sure to bring your passports!

Looking ahead to future Degree Work, February 10th will give you an opportunity to see the presentation of the 29th Degree, Knight of St. Andrew at the Valley Office and then March 10th Stated Meeting will offer  the presentation of the 16th Degree, Prince of Jerusalem at the Delaware County Murpah Shrine Club, 3222 E. McGalliard Rd., Muncie, IN.  Convocation will be March 28th offering the 32nd Degree, a Ladies Program, Dinner and Entertainment.

January 26trh will be another opportunity to gather to provide a great service to your Brothers by participating in the Brother to Brother Calling – December contacts included 206 calls made by five (5) Brothers and an additional 564 widow contacts – these participants are truly fulfilling their obligation to care for our members and widows and they would welcome your participation!  If you would like to join in this effort, just come to the Valley Office about 6 p.m. on Monday, January 26th with your cell phone in hand!  We’ll provide all the information you need to make calls and will even provide you dinner – just please call the office at 423-2593 to or email docsinn80@frontier.com to let us know your plans so we can have the proper amount of food available.  Calling is usually finished by about 8:30 p.m.

February will bring us the one and only annual fundraising event of the Valley – the 2015 Wine Tasting & Silent Auction.  This year’s theme is “An Evening on the Red Carpet” and you’re invited to come attired  in Old Hollywood-style attire, if you would like.  Tickets are just $30.00 per person and are available by calling the Valley Office at 260-423-2593 or  you may also purchase tickets at the Stated Meeting on January 13th.  We are also in need of donations for the auction and would appreciate your help – what business owners do you know, what places do you frequent that might be willing to make a donation of an item or certificate?  This is a Valley wide event and “many hands make light work” – thanks in advance for your assistance!

May the blessings of warmth, good health and safe journeys be with you as you travel about this month!
