Happenings – June, 2015

Double-Eagle-Logo-200pxIt’s June already and there are a lot of opportunities to gather for fun  and fellowship – get out your calendars because there’s lots of new information!

Tonight, June 4th is the Annual Appreciation Cookout at the FOP located at 2550 N 400 E in Marion.  Gathering starts at 5 pm and dinner begins at 6 pm – you won’t want to miss – bring a  brother who might want to learn more and see Scottish Rite Masons in action!

June’s Stated Meeting will actually be an Informal Social held at Rudy’s located at 409 W. Brackenridge beginning at 5 pm till ?  Cigars, drinks are available for you to purchase and there is plenty of seating indoors and out.

On June 20th, we will travel to the Arena Dinner Theatre to see the production of “Daddy’s Dyin’ – Whose Got the Will”.  Reservation deadline was May 27th, but those of you who beat that timeframe are going to have a wonderful time!  Arena Theatre is located at 729 Rockhill – Doors open at 6:15, Dinner at 7 and Play at 8 – See you there!

Our Brother to Brother Calling Guild meets on Monday, June 22nd and you’re all invited to share in this opportunity to share some time with Brothers who truly appreciate the phone contacts made.  6 pm start with a break about 7 for dinner and then we usually finish by about 8:30.

New addition to the calendar is Degree Work – The Knights of St. Andrew Degree will be presented live at the Masonic Temple, 216 E. Washington on Tuesday, June 23rd.  Dinner begins at 6 pm (free will donation) and degree work begins at 7.  Dinner reservations can be made thru email – msdoxsee@gmail.com

June 25th will be the Appreciation Cookout at the Kosciusko County Shrine Club, 1400 E. Smith St., Warsaw.  Gathering at 5 and dinner begins at 6.  Again, great food and fellowship – bring a Brother who might be interested in becoming a Scottish Rite Mason!

June 27th is Council of Deliberation in Franklin and then Sunday, June 28th is St. John the Baptist Observance at Trinity Episcopal Church, 611 W. Berry St. in Fort Wayne – 10 am service.

Just peeking into July, you might want to make plans to join us in the 3 Rivers Festival Parade – There is customarily a float and walkers in the parade that represent both the Blue Lodges and the Scottish Rite.  Mike James is our contact person and you can get details from him by emailing Mike at mjames@tjnowak.com

Also,  reservations need to be made by July 15th for  the Scottish Rite Night at the TinCaps Game to be played on August 1st.  Tickets are just $7.50 per person and reserved seating can be ordered thru the Valley Office at 260-423-2593.

Finally,  the Annual Golf Outing to be held at Club Run Golf Club, 7617 CR 400 S in Marion will be July 25th.  It is a 9 am Shotgun Start – 4 person Florida Scramble format, $50.00 per player/$200.00 per team  Register your team by calling the Valley Office.
