It hardly seems like we only have a few weeks left in 2014, but reality sets in and soon we will be looking at another new beginning! First of all, we want to say “thank you” for your efforts in this past year making the Fort Wayne Valley the outstanding organization it is! As you see family and friends over this holiday season, keep in mind that there are Brothers close by who no longer have family and have lost many of their peers who would love to hear an encouraging word from you, too. Who of you might be interested in being a part of a Visitation Team to briefly visit some of these isolated Brothers? Word is out that when visitations are made, it turns into a great experience for both parties. We still need you to fulfill your obligation to care for our members – that can be done in so many ways and the benefits to all are massive. As you begin to make your list of resolutions for 2015, please make it a priority to share the light of Scottish Rite Masonry with others.
The Valley Office will be closing Christmas Eve at Noon and will reopen on Monday, December 29th at 9 a.m. Later that week, the Office will close at Noon on New Year’s Eve and will reopen on Monday, January 5th to begin a fantastic New Year of service to this great fraternity! The Office Staff thanks you and greatly appreciates the extended time to spend with our families.
With all the demands on your time in these last few weeks of the year, it’s easy to forget; however, we would like to gently remind you that your dues should be sent in prior to January 1st.
Monday, December 29th will be the last Brother to Brother Calling session for this year. Join us at 6 p.m. to make some calls, share a meal and bless a Brother with the gift of your caring call. We usually finish about 8:30 p.m.
As the New Year begins, Stated Meeting is scheduled for January 13th. Knights of St. Andrew will meet at 5:45 p.m., the 4th Degree will be available for new candidates at 6 p.m. (remember, Convocation is coming up in March), Executive Meeting is also at 6 p.m. followed by Stated Meeting at 7 p.m. with the presentation of the 12th Degree, Master of Mercy. Be sure to bring your passports!
Tickets for the 14th Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction are available at the Valley Office, still a bargain at $30.00 per person! This years event carries the theme “An Evening on the Red Carpet” and it will be held Saturday, February 21st at Ceruti’s Summit Park in the Diamond Room. Your help would be greatly appreciated in making contacts and securing quality items for the auction. You can bring your donation to the Valley Office weekdays from 9 – 4 p.m.
